This Bike…

I want this bike. This is the Trek Touring 520. Most people see this bike and to them it is just a bike.To me its a life style, Its how I want to live. This bike is ment for cross country rides and to last 40 + years. Its ment to commuting everyday bike riding and it is ment to take everything you throw at it.While most bikes are made out of aluminum or carbon fiber this bike is made of steel. For a person like me this bike is a replacement for a car or a more traditional modern form of transportation (Well atleast here im America.). There are people that have never owned a car in there life and biked everywhere they needed to go. To work, to the grocery store, to social events, etc. I want to live like that. While I will never be completely free of a car and other things like that this will be what I mostly use. In this car centric culture we live in people will look at me and think i’m crazy. I know this, but I don’t care. Even though it might be weird or different at least I know what I want in and from life. You cant take that from me. You guys enjoy your cars, i’m fine with my bike and getting everywhere with my own power. I will be reducing my impact on the planet, maintaining good health and physical fitness while also padding my pocket with some extra cash. It will also go hand and hand with my other life goals that I want so its perfect. I cant wait to get this bike and start a new chapter in my life.

Cars Suck.

There just another perpetuator of the human sociatal disconcect from nature and reality. People need to get out of there cars once and a while. Its a big wonderful and interesting world out there. Get out of your metal cages and enjoy it. Sometimes the trip by walking, skating and biking is better then the experience of just getting to the destination as you would in a car. Im not saying car’s are useless and no one should have one or what have you but im saying its not always necessary. 40% of all non work related car trips are 2 miles or less. A little exercise wont kill you. A relaxing  walk or exhilarating bike ride would do you good every now and then.

Why Do Atheists/Agnostics Say “Oh My God” ?

Why are Christians and Catholics so perplexed by this question? They just don’t get it or understand why a atheist might say it. Lets take God and Religion out of this equation. Lets look at the word “Swag”. This word took the world, well at’least among a’lot of the young people by storm. EVERYONE was saying it. Even people that did not listen to the rap or that were involved in the hip-hop culture it originated from. Why is this? Because they heard it said, so they said it. It was a popular and cool thing to say. Even if you did not like it or thought it was stupid it was around so much you might even say it without realizing it. Same thing with “Oh my god” and sayings like that. People hear it alot. Its in the culture in the United States especially. So people might say it from time to time just by the fact that it was ingrained in there brain so much. People might say, well still why would they say it if they did not believe it or it did not apply to them or means nothing to them? Well how about when we are in elementary school. We are forced to recite the pledge of allegiance. “One nation under god” we have to say it for most all of our elementary school years. It gets ingrained in a persons vocabulary and thoughts don’t you think?

To Do list For The Remainder Of 2012…

  • Lose 50 pounds (Started at 240, now at 220)
  • Get a job
  • Be on track to move out of parents house
  • Get at least a 4 pack chest
  • Bike a 50 mile bike ride, maybe 100
  • Become a well rounded cyclist

A’lot of changes going on in my life right now. All for the better though. I’m changing what I need to change, fixing what I need to fix and doing what I need to do. Regardless of anything that can happen to me I will make it for the better because I know, even if things a’rent perfect i’m destined for happiness. My life will be how I want it. There is always room for self improvement and i’m determined to be the best I can be. I’m looking forward to the coming months even if it will be all unknown and scary. If life was always the same and so predictable it wouldn’t really be life to me. So I embrace changes and new beginnings with open arms.

I am 100% sure there are some closet atheist politicians. In this country religion is such a huge factor in public office. When John F Kennedy ran for president it was a huge deal that he was catholic. When Obama ran people tried to bury him by lying and making rumors he was Muslim, they slammed him on his pastor saying crazy things. Why is religion so important for a politician, it shouldn’t matter. Your telling me a christian politician will be better then a atheist one? He or she will pass better legislation. If we had a Atheist president would everything just fucking implode on itself? No of course not, just narrow minded people are idiots. 

Why the fuck do people insist to mention the youth anytime anybody does something perceived as bad. A celebrity could piss in a bush and there would be people crying saying “Think the children! They look up to you and there irresponsible you have to be a role model” That is the stupidest thing ever. What happen to the parents being role models, what happen to teaching your kid good values and morals so they wont be so impressionable to unfavorable things. People in America have there priorities screwed up. Instead of wanting TV and movies teach your son or daughter to act right why don’t you do it?
